Welcome at the Department of Greek and Latin Philology

Merger with the Institute of Archaeology, Classical Philology, and Ancient Studies (IAKA) as of January 1, 2026
Our Department of Greek and Latin Philology is merging with the Institute of Archaeology. As of January 1, 2026, we will form a joint unit, to which the three UZH professorships in Ancient History will also be affiliated: the Institute of Archaeology, Classical Philology and Ancient Studies (IAKA). We are supported in this by the UZH's TRANSFORM funding line. From January 1, 2026, we will be presenting ourselves at www.iaka.uzh.ch.
